Yep, the mothership is sinking. Since all of their layoffs a few months ago, the quality of almost every facet of their programming has noticeably declined substantially. Only the basics of game broadcasts have remained the same. Even their online reporting and content has reached a low. About the only thing they have going for themselves there is the espn3 format which makes tons of games available. So is the price for paying conferences and pro-leagues outrageous sums of cash of their broadcast rights just as cord cutting was about to begin across the country. Of the basic cable channels, they charge far and away more per subscriber than most any other cable channel.
Speaking of which, this is likely a terrible time for C-USA to be back in broadcast negotiations. Maybe Fox Sports and CBS Sports will remain interested. I just hope C-USA makes sure to update and upgrade the digital platform to be more accessible, reliable, and unified in conference.
