. . . apparently doesn't include Randy Weil. List of "Former Head Coaches who played for Smith" on the NBC Sports web site's "College Basketball Talk" makes no mention of Weil. Wikipedia entry for Smith includes a list of coaches and former coaches in Smith's tree. Again, no Weil. How soon we forget (perhaps with reason).

All this Dean Smith stuff does is make me feel old - I remember when he was the face of Carolina Basketball. He was one of those guys that you just kind of figured would always be around.

Kind of like Coach K - in 50 years I'm going to be in the old folks home watching a BBall game and Coach K will still be cursing from the sidelines.
