Amen!!!!! I touched on this in another thread. How different would the conference be with Troy, ASU, Appy st. and Ga Southern? Take away FIU, Charlotte, ODU and UTEP or UTSA.

Folks can say what they want but after last night, UT Martin is better than over 50% of the teams in this conference right now..

Looks like our forums lol... we do not suffer alone. At least we didn't lose to our FCS opponent. They might actually go 0-12 this year...

1. Conference USA is... bad: While there are some quality teams like North Texas and maybe FAU, it was not a pretty week 2 for C-USA. Losses include Charlotte getting pummeled by App State, Baylor beating UTSA, UL Monroe beating Southern Miss, Coastal Carolina trouncing UAB, UNLV beating UTEP, Hawaii stomping Rice and then there’s Maine beating Western Kentucky. That last one almost deserves it’s own article. This isn’t the conference measuring up to Power Five leagues, this is against other Group of Five conferences and the FCS. This makes me legitimately question the long term future of the conference going forward as this has become a pattern.

On the flip side of young programs still encountering growing pains, you have established programs in Middle Tennessee and Southern Miss okay with being stuck in neutral as Rick Stockstill and Jay Hopson, respectively, each have signed contract extensions in the past year despite not showing a whole lot to earn them.
