FOOTBALL Conner’s 5 takeaways through four games

It's football and there will always be injuries but why does it seem like every single year, half of our starters are injured?

Legit question as I never played football. Do the weight room facilities have anything to do with that? Blatnick seems to be the kind of guy that knows what he is doing. Do we just not have all the guys need yet? I know CDM put in the nutrition station but it still isn't the same as a full blown nutrition system (ie meals, before workout, after, proper snacks, etc). The SAPC should help in all that, right? Better weight room, recovery pools, etc.

I think it's a whole S&C culture thing that will need time (I know, no one wants to hear it).

It's one of those things where you need the facilities, nutrition program, S&C program, the right players with the right mindset and leadership group. You got to flip the roster, get these guys in here, and build them up and establish the year over year culture of vets who can pass down the culture to the newcomers.

When it comes to S&C facilities 100% make a difference. Recovery pools and the proper nutrition plans are extremely important as well. That should improve with the new facility but that’s something that will unfortunately take some time. You can’t change that stuff overnight because you’ll kill the guys and actually cause more injuries.

Didn't we also lose 2-3 linemen against Tech in game 1? I'm also thinking our conditioning has been subpar not only this year, but for multiple years now.
Yes they lost Julius Pierce which was probably the best lineman on the team. And then they lost J'Shun Bodiford who to @mtfblue comment, Bodiford is a 6'3 offensive tackle
