Concessions

Had one of those at a bar in Atlanta when we played Georgia Tech & it was amazing. Cool to see some variety in a concession stand menu like that rather than the run of the mill crappy stuff that is typical. My daughter is still mad that MT stopped selling real Petros, and now some kind of substitute bowl of nasty chili.

A friend that is at almost every men and women's basketball game says they'd like to see Hot Chocolate available in Murphy Center. Seems like that would something simple to add.

I miss Kirkenburt's and their redneck nachos

I miss Kirkenburt's, period!

Me too. Was by far my favorite BBQ in Murfreesboro. And they delivered to my house.

What happened to them? They just closed up shop and disappeared. Im guessing they weren't making enough money. Hate to see those places go.

All of this! Loved Kirkenburts, was so disappointed when they were not at games, even more when the closed shop. Hope their owners are doing well in whatever they are doing now, always awesome to their customers.

On topic thought - I wish our concession was more creative with things, like this. I love the hot chicken idea as well. How about something like the a breaded chicken waffle sandwich, or or a chicken waffle cone? I had a mac and cheese dog (with crab meat) at a Baltimore O's game. Just something creative that makes us stand out.

Off topic - I haven't made it back to M'boro in a few years, what is the best MT spot in town now that Kirkenburts is gone?

I think Kirkenburts had a death in family and one of the guys left town. Their first restaurant was Blue Raider BBQ in Shelbyville but I don't know if it is still in business,

If you guys want some really good BBQ there is this hole in the wall place on Mona Road. 3714 W Jefferson Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 is the address. Probably won't be there long since restaurants come and go from that location every year (some good; some not so good). As long as you don't mind Texas Longhorn paraphernalia it is the best bbq I have ever had but a little pricey. Not much of a MT place but worth checking out.

Best concession food I've eaten, period were the fish tacos at WKU last season. And the vendor (Steamer Seafood) was located just behind the visitor sections.

I could do the hot chicken thing too.

Speaking of wku, last season when we went up to Diddle to watch the women play, one of the concessions, was cinnamon/brown sugar/roasted almonds we bought before the game and then went back to the stand again at half time. Small stuff like that. Beats standing in line for the same old popcorn.

Btw, at the baseball games this week, bought the Cajun grilled bologna sandwich, always good. And Hot chocolate. You can get hot chocolate at baseball games when its a little cool.
