BASKETBALL Charlotte MBB coach let go, Interim is a MT alumnus

Conference play has not started and 2 HCs in C-USA are already gone. While I'm not celebrating those coaches' separation from their teams, it is good to see C-USA basketball teams not settling for dismal outcomes.

Both UTEP and Charlotte have good to great history and tradition with way too much potential to be losing like they have over the last couple of years. They have great facilities, and both programs are more than capable of attracting high caliber talent and athleticism. If both of those programs can get back on track, it would be a good boost for C-USA basketball.

Watching a few Charlotte games on TV every once in a while, it looked like their HC was still trying to coach in the NBA. As in, it looks like he did little coaching. They usually have good size and athleticism, but they play little better than a pickup game style of basketball. It looks like the just released coach would just let them play as if they were already highly accomplished players. In college, they are too young and inexperienced to be to that point.

Those teams getting better could make some games more difficult for MT, but it could improve C-USA overall.
