CFL: Patience pays off as Argos quarterback Logan Kilgore gets his shot

...the 26-year-old Kilgore will be the one throwing the ball for the Argos for the next three to five weeks while starter Ricky Ray heals up from what TSN reported on Tuesday as a sprained MCL.

Ray was hurt in the fourth quarter of Toronto's win over the Montreal Alouettes on Monday, when defensive tackle Vaughn Martin fell into Ray's left knee. His shoulder pushed Ray's knee sideways, forcing the quarterback to limp to the sidelines in a noticeable amount of pain.

Ray is slated to return anywhere from the Aug. 20 game against Edmonton to the Labour Day game in Hamilton against the Tiger-Cats.

Kilgore has been waiting for the opportunity to show what he can do for more than a year now; he spent last season on the practice roster before being named Ray's backup this season.....

They have said Middle Tennessee Stat at least 4 times while discussing Logan, Keon Raymond and Alex Suber

322 yards and a TD is a pretty good debut. If he wins next week, he could end up being the starter. The Argos lead the standings in their division.

Kilgore, kicker lead Argos past Redblacks

...Kilgore’s accomplishments in his first start though can’t be overstated.

He spread the ball around nicely but not surprisingly found a comfortable connection with Kenny Shaw, a player he spent all of last year throwing to while both were on the practice roster together.

Shaw wound up with a game-high 107 yards receiving on six catches including a game-long 41 yard connection.

Kilgore, the 26-year-old produce of West Tennessee State, was good on 25 of 42 passes for 322 yards and a touchdown on the night. He threw one interception on the final play of the first half and had another tipped at the line that went for a second pick but otherwise played an almost errorless football game.....

TSU, ETSU, and now a school which never existed (unless you go back 75 years to WTS Teachers College).

Will it never end?
