6-6 prediction? Yikes. I'm thinking more like 8-4.

I think 6-6 is very possible.

We have so many 50-50 games
- Vandy
-Bowling Green
- Mizzou
- Marshall
- WKU

Then a few others that we struggle with - FIU, FAU and LT will be tough.

I could see us winning from 5-10 games. Crazy. It is critical that we start fast. Its imperative that we start 3-0.

This season has the possibility to go south in a hurry. Lose the two road games at VU and BG then play poorly in the first true home challenge against LT and we're 1 and 3 with the only W against FCS A & M.

It's huge that we win at least one of the first two road games. Both would be nice!

With what I've seen in camp so far and with the talent we have plus TF, no way we go 6-6 IMO.

If we can beat Vandy, we can beat Bowling Green. BG has a brand new coach, depleted offense and their D is no where near what Vandy's is.

VU is the crucial early in the season.

I've watched VU's spring game and some of their fall vids and I think their D won't be as good as they were last year. Their O will be better but they are slower than we are right now. Their outside WR's are not that fast. They shouldn't get in front of us that much. They have a good ground game and their TE's are what will cause problems.

Mizzou and VU are so similar. Beating VU unlocks a lot of keys to beating the other. Mizzou's overall D is probably better right now than VU but Mason is supposedly a master of defending the spread. We've beaten Odom twice before.

As far as C-USA goes, no C-USA team has defenses on the level of Vandy or Mizzou. If we can score on them, we'll score on WKU and Marshall. If our OC could dial up a play that could punch it in from the one or convert short yardage 3rd down plays, we would have beaten Vandy, WMU and the Marshall game wouldn't have been close at all. Last year, we were a hair trigger from being a 10 win team. Franklin is twice the OC Faulkner was and I actually think our D will be better this year. I really do.

Remember in 09, we weren't predicted to do squat either and look where we ended up. I'm not that worried.

If we go 3-0 to start the season, you better look out because we could be on the verge of our best season ever. It will be interesting and I can't wait.

I'm not predicting 6-6 but I agree that it's very possible. I don't think we should be downplaying Bowling Green. They are almost always good and it's a road game. Plus, we all know about our sterling history of success against MAC teams.

No, I definitely agree. I do think Vandy will tell us a lot about where we're really at. Our short game on offense will determine our season and if we can tackle. If we improve in those 2 areas, we will have a lot of success.

The first 4 games really will define the season. Vandy, BG and La tech will give us the info we need. 1-3 is terrible 2-2 is ok, 3-1 is pretty good and 4-0 would possibly set us up for our best season ever. BG losing their coach was a big loss and their new one is a first time HC. It sets up for an interesting game.

We absolutely must beat Vanderbilt if we want to have the season we are expecting. Plus, we will probably have almost as many, if not more, fans than they do so we should have a great atmosphere in West End.

I'm not hanging my hat on the Vanderbilt game. At the end of the day, they're an SEC team and they beat us last year and they return almost all their players plus the game is at their house. We will be a touchdown underdog going into it so I don't think it's fair to expect to win it. We need to make sure we take care of business against Bowling Green and La. Tech to be honest and try to start 3-1. If we can start 3-1 we will be just fine.

I think the key against Vandy is to score at least 24-28 points. I think we can contain their O, but if its low scoring we could be in trouble again...they will be bigger and stronger and will have the ability to run the ball in the 4th Q.

We had Vandy beat last year and gave them the game. They should have the game on in the weight room and locker room everyday. Especially the last 6 minutes. If we could have punched it in from the 1 yard line, the last 2 VU TD's wouldn't have mattered.

It was 13-3 with 7:00 to go in the 4th. Think about that. It should have been 20-3. All we need to do against VU is finish. We had 3 games where we just didn't finish. If we can do that, we will be just fine.
