You could just as easily look at January and ask why California's 5,900-job gain was so small relative to the nation's 311,000 job gain. California's unemployment rate in February remained at 4.2 percent, the state reported Friday. Meanwhile the US unemployment rate is 3.8 percent.

What is your point, cherry picking data?...CA is the 5th largest economy in the world.

If they were as bad off as the conservative pundits and constituants claim, they would never achieve good numbers... That's the point.

What drives CA economic success is NOT govt policy. You used one months data...its cherry picking data to make a point. One month worth of data is meaning less, as you saw I pointed out Jan of 2019 info...

The company I work for has an office in Silicon Valley...there is an amazing mass of talented folks that willing to work crazy hours to make it and succeed, but the costs are outrageous and out of hand for middle class folks.

As you stated earlier, it's the 5th largest economy in the world. That alone would indicate that it's doing well. While 12+% is high, other states have state tax rates near that and again, apparently the economy is strong or they wouldn't have the fifth largest economy in the world.
