Boots Donnelly statue unveiled at Middle Tennessee

Noticed that The Tennessean did not have anything from Amato in this morning's paper. Guess they thought the VU beat writer (Sparks) could adequately cover the game. Nothing needed from the MT perspective. (sarcasm intended)

Predarat graciously provided an adequate pictorial analysis in the "Attendance" thread.

Thanks for posting those video links, Space. I enjoyed seeing that as I wasn't able to attend. That speech was classic Boots. The man hasn't changed a bit. The statue, along with the granite wall, are all a fitting tribute to him for what he accomplished for our university. I hope someday our stadium will bear his name, as well. "Donnelly-Floyd Stadium" has a nice ring to it, IMHO.

BTW, was McPhee at the ceremony? (I'm doubting it, but was just curious since I wasn't there.)
Thanks again.

Mcphee was there. Front row seat, I believe. It was SRO. The few events I have been at, it was as crowded as I have ever seen.

And did McPhee have anything to do with the program? I know how he likes center stage.

I had to leave before Boots got up to speak and I was not witness to any interactions...the program ran longer than I had thought it might, and I had other obligations with tailgating duties that afternoon.

Hey, that's okay. Like I said earlier, I couldn't go at all but just wondered about how that went. I'd wager that IF there were words exchanged, they were probably few and well chosen....
