    BASKETBALL Return of Kermit?

Possibly. I just remember an interview he gave when Knoxville Correctional came to the Murphy Center. He made reference to interviewing for our vacancy and that if he had gotten the job, he would have ended up in Knoxville even quicker.

Boots hired Kermit. Bruce Pearl was also a finalist.

throw back that popped on my timeline

Don't need to watch again to know Calico was inbounds.

    BASKETBALL Middle Tennessee (6-12, 0-3) @ NMSU (8-10, 2-1), 8PM, Saturday, January 20, 2024

Kermit's words still hold up. "To be a national program, you have to act like a national program." If there is one thing this fan base can agree on, it's the MBB program is not acting like a national program.

    BASKETBALL Middle Tennessee (6-11, 0-2) @ UTEP (9-8, 0-2), 8PM, Thursday, January 18, 2024

27 turnovers is impressive. That's hard to do against air. I watched the first half and turned it off. We are sloppy with ball. Soft on defense. We are what our record is. There is no sugar coating it. This program is completely unrecognizable from where we were.

    Really?

I love the internet. Just phenomenal.

BASKETBALL Middle Tennessee vs SFA, 7PM, Thursday, November 9, 2023

Hard to have a pretty win against a team like SFA. Will take an ugly win all day, especially against a tough OOC opponent. Let's just enjoy being 2-0. We "should" be 4-0 when UAB comes to the Murphy Center. Will be a fun one.

FOOTBALL Do you agree with this spread?

Opened at 11.5, and is now 14.5 at MGM. I bet numbers, not teams. If the general public is giving me a free FG, I'm going to take it.

    FOOTBALL Middle Tennessee (1-4, 0-1) vs Jacksonville State (4-1, 2-0) (ESPNU), 7PM, Wednesday, October 4, 2023

I don't know man...I like fading public money. The Strip wasn't built on winning tickets. Case in point, Oregon laying 21 against the Fighting Primes. I may wait until closer to kickoff, hopefully it keeps moving.

    FOOTBALL Middle Tennessee @ Alabama ($ec/ESPN Network), 6:30PM Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023

Can still see Freddie Roach returning the pick six off Andrico. Funny story on the defensive holding, I know the Umpire who threw the flag. We have called some games together. I asked him about it. He said yes, they initially reported the wrong number. But, he had warned the defensive tackle...

FOOTBALL Way too early look at Middle Tennessee - Alabama "This ain't Miami"

Bets like that aren't really made for a profit. But it does show cash played for whatever rewards program you are a member of, in this case Caesar's "Total Rewards". It is a way to keep their elevated status for comps, etc.

FOOTBALL New color guy with Chip!

Love having two of our own in the booth. Both names are recognizable. It's a win all around. Chip has more school pride than any alumni I know. He loves his school. Bringing Big Joe in to the booth will make our broadcasts even better.

    For those who attended MTSU....

Exhibit A on why there is a disconnect between the football program and the fan base. And it will never change with RS as HC. I always go back to what KD said, "To be a national program, you have to act like a national program."

    For those who attended MTSU....

The Minnesota game was fun for sure. It was wild the last time UT came to MC, but there was a lot of urnge in there. But man, without question, the loudest and most electric atmosphere was the WKU home game when we were ranked, Giddy's senior year. I had never seen the student body that engaged...

    For those who attended MTSU....

Started in 2000. Corlew for first semester, then moved in to the Sigma Nu house on Greek Row. Business Admin with emphasis in Accounting. The games at Vandy were electric. Can still see Freddie Roach picking off Andrico Hines for a pick 6. Calico was inbounds in Knoxville...

    BASEBALL Rice series

I'm not sure that would even be a lateral move at this point considering current state of both programs and recruiting footprint.

    BASKETBALL Another transfer

This is what college basketball is now. Will be rinse and repeat next year. Good players at G5 programs will leave for greener pastures (more NIL $$$). And players at P5 programs not getting the playing time and exposure they want, will go to a G5 program.
